The course addresses project management principles, techniques and tools, methodologies, hard (science) and soft (art) aspects, using a step-by-step methodology to lead teams and deliver successful projects. Courseware includes definitions, checklists, examples, templates, videos and webinars. Participants apply project management tools and techniques to current or planned projects.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge. They may manage projects in a variety of contexts, across a number of industry sectors. They have project leadership and management roles and are responsible for achieving project objectives. They possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical and managerial competencies to initiate, plan, execute and evaluate their own work and/or the work of others. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Some project management, project or management experience is recommended.
If you have no project management, project or management experience we recommend the BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.
On completing the Diploma you should be able to perform roles such as:
The course includes progressive assessment – upon satisfying criteria candidates are awarded BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management.
On completion of the course delegates are eligible to apply for AIPM’s RegPM Certification at Certified Practicing Project Practitioner (CPPP) level when applying for Associate Membership. Eligible candidates may also complete AIPM RegPM Certification at Certified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM) level.
Undertaking workshop activities which include filling out templates (eg for a project or program from start to finish). AGS provides templates, examples, checklists. Templates are filled-in during workshop activities and completed post-workshop. Delegates may work on case studies or real workplace projects, in teams or on their own. Workplace templates/ deliverables may also be used for evidence.
Completion of an Assessment Record Book (ARB), primarily answering knowledge and understanding questions (no exam!). This is typically completed post workshop. It takes anything from five to 75 hours to complete post-workshop activities (ie templates and ARB as outlined above) depending upon several factors including experience, work pace, tasks completed in the workshop, use of workplace evidence etc.
On finishing this course participants should be able to manage the definition, planning, implementation, control and successful completion of projects.

AGS deliver the training and undertake assessments via Agreement with a Registered Training Organisation.
The Qualification is awarded by the Registered Training Organisation. After completing workshops delegates have 12 months to submit evidence. Laptop/tablets at workshops aid evidence generation.
